Amaryllis

One year ago, Christy Nockels released “The Thrill of Hope” and it came at a time where the Lord used it to truly bring HOPE to my soul. I remember making an Instagram post about the song “Amaryllis” on December 14, 2016. On that day, I had no idea what the Lord have in store for our family in the next 12 months.

We experienced our first miscarriage in December 2015, our second miscarriage in March 2016, then our third miscarriage in October 2016. We then closed on a house in November 2016 and moved in after some renovations in December 2016 (our 7th move in 9 years of marriage) and I clearly remember feeling the PEACE fall over me at that time. January 2017 was a time of stepping out in FAITH in prayer about a number of things ... specifically believing that the Lord still had another little one for our family. In April 2017, we found out I was pregnant. In May 2017, I will never forget the night I got to share part of our story THE WELL and that night (May 8th, the due date of the baby we lost in October) marking a night of NEW BEGINNINGS. A bunch of the ladies and I at The Well that night talked about how exciting it will be to get some AMARYLLIS in December when our baby was due.

In August 2017, we found out we are having a baby BOY. And from the first day it was “cooler” in September, the kids have been jumping up and down saying things like, “It’s getting cold outside which means it’s almost Fall which means it’s almost Christmas which means Baby Beau is coming!” And now we have enjoyed Fall, Thanksgiving, and are now 4 weeks out from our due date of our rainbow baby, Beau. My dear mama gave us an amaryllis on Thanksgiving day and then today I found one that reminded me of a painting my dear friend, Martha, painted for me on my birthday. Her vision painting this was that there were three blooms and three bulbs. The three blooms representing our Nelson, Natalie and Beau. The three bulbs representing the babies who we will one day meet in Heaven. Today I was walking through Lowes and spotted an amaryllis that had two blooms and one that had not yet popped but was supposed to in the next 3 to 6 weeks. What a timely find!

As I got back in my car and “Behold the Lamb of God” CD was playing...I could only sit in awe of the journey the Lord has brought us through these past two years in particular. It has been a joy and privilege to get to walk with some of of you through similar situations that we would not ever wish on anyone but just a blessing from the Lord to lock arms and walk in faith through the valleys and mountaintops. Tomorrow as we approach the 36 week mark, I am filled with such gratitude for God’s grace. And boy oh boy, how I can’t even wait to watch these flowers bloom!

**I shared this entry today on what I sometimes refer to as my "InstaBlog" (Instagram) but I wanted to make sure and share it here as well for any of you that may need encouragement and do not follow along on Instagram.
